The Egyptian (Alopochen aegyptiaca) goose is also called Nile goose. It is of African origin and lives on food-rich, subtropical inland lakes and rivers. It is considered to be the most common Afro-tropical duck bird. In mythology, the Egyptian goose is considered a holy bird and one of the many gods that created the world and the light.
