The Cape hare (lepus capensis) is spread all over Africa. It has a fine, soft coat which varies in color from light brown to sandy grey. The long ears have a black tip. With an approximate lengh of 50 centimeters and a weight of 2,5 kilogramm they are smaller than the european hare. They are night active and hide in basins during the day.
